Lyrics

[Verse 1]
On a cold windy day, in Minneapolis town,
Nurse Alex Pretti stood firm, never backing down.
Helping two women, abused and scared,
He reached out his hand, he genuinely cared.
But trouble was brewing, authorities came in,
ICE rolling hot, with their badges and sin.
Pepper spray blinding, took away his breath,
Down on his knees, led to Alex's death.

[Chorus]
Why are ICE agents so cold in their souls?
Breaking our laws, breaking our goals.
They don’t follow the rules, they don’t heed the call,
God help us all, these agents stumble and fall.

[Verse 2]
Three shots fired, the silence rang dread,
Alex taken down, they shot him dead.
Fighting for justice, for the right to speak,
Without fear in his heart, through his spirit, they’d sneak.
He had courage inside, truth was his guide,
But lost his life, with nowhere to hide.
Man down, in the street, it felt like a crime,
The price he paid, for standing in line.

[Chorus]
Why are ICE agents so cold in their souls?
Breaking our laws, breaking our goals.
They don’t follow the rules, they don’t heed the call,
God help us all, these agents stumble and fall.

[Bridge]
Trump sits in his tower, Kristi Noem spreads lies,
But citizens know the truth, it stings like a prize.
America must rise, take a stand for the light,
Vote out the ones who put up this fight.

[Verse 3]
Defund and disestablish, we’ll make it clear,
No more ICE terror, let’s shift into gear.
Together we stand, united we rise,
For Alex Pretti’s courage, let’s open our eyes.
This cold windy day won’t fade in vain,
His name will live on, through hearts and pain.

[Chorus]
Why are ICE agents so cold in their souls?
Breaking our laws, breaking our goals.
They don’t follow the rules, they don’t heed the call,
God help us all, these agents stumble and fall.

[Outro]
On a cold windy day, we remember his fight,
Nurse Alex Pretti's spirit shining so bright.
We’ll honor his legacy for justice, we pray,
In Minneapolis city, we shout to this day.
