Lyrics
[Verse 1]
On a cold windy day in Minneapolis town,
Nurse Alex Pretti stood there, never backing down.
He saw two women crying, caught in a scheme,
ICE was abusing, tearing apart their dream.
With compassion in his heart, he could never walk away,
Just trying to help them, oh what a price to pay.
[Chorus]
Oh, why are ICE agents untrained and so cold?
Breaking our laws, breaking our souls,
They don’t follow the rules, don’t heed the call,
God help us all, these ICE agents are out of control.
[Verse 2]
ICE came in hot, badges shining bright,
Pepper spray in hand, ready to ignite.
They blinded his eyes and took away his breath,
It quickly led to Nurse Alex Pretti's death.
With courage in his heart, he stood for the weak,
Fighting for justice, but who’d hear him speak?
[Chorus]
Oh, why are ICE agents untrained and so cold?
Breaking our laws, breaking our souls,
They don’t follow the rules, don’t heed the call,
God help us all, these ICE agents are out of control.
[Bridge]
Three shots rang out, in the dead of the day,
As Alex fought back, a protest lost its way.
Peaceful intentions turned into dismay,
They silenced his voice, left us all in decay.
But with courage in his heart, and love by his side,
He embraced those women, with honor, with pride.
[Verse 3]
From the pavement to the skies, his spirit will soar,
An innocent life shattered, but his legacy roars.
So let’s rise up together, for justice, and fight,
We’ll carry his memory, through the darkest night.
No more silence, we'll speak for those in pain,
In the spirit of Alex, let justice reign.
[Chorus]
Oh, why are ICE agents untrained and so cold?
Breaking our laws, breaking our souls,
They don’t follow the rules, don’t heed the call,
God help us all, these ICE agents are out of control.
[Outro]
So let his name echo, let the truth prevail,
For Nurse Alex Pretti, we must tell the tale.
Fighting for justice, with love as our guide,
In his memory we stand strong, we’ll never divide.
