On a cold windy day, Minneapolis stands,
With the frost in the air and hope in our hands,
Nurse Alex Pretti, he showed that he cared,
Helping two women, a heart so rare.
ICE was closing in, the tension was high,
He couldn't just walk away, he couldn’t deny,
With every intent to help, he stepped in the fray,
Just trying to lift them, oh what a price to pay.
Why are ICE agents untrained and so cold?
Breaking our laws, breaking our souls,
They don’t follow the rules, they don’t heed the call,
God help us all, ICE is out of control.
Came in hot with badges, pepper spray in hand,
Blinded his eyes, didn’t understand,
Down on his knees, they took away his breath,
Quick was the fall, leading straight to death.
Three shots rang out, in the dead of day,
As Alex was beaten, he’d just come to play,
A peaceful protest turned to dismay,
But Alex stood strong, in the face of decay.

He was there for the women, ready to fight,

For a man full of kindness, that came at a cost,
He stood for the helpless, with pride in his gaze,
And now we remember those unspoken days.
